A Life’s Project
2019
‘The present UFO must be subjective, individual, personal and open to interpretations.’

What makes the above statement less of a manifesto is the opportunity to contribute to it and continue with it.

The current project regards an investigation of paintings of women drawn by women from the Renaissance era, whose names were altered or erased due to the patriarchal regime of the time, which dictated that females could not be prominent, or at all, artists.

Edited in black and white, an almost new, somewhat heterotopian environment is being introduced in an effort to make those very creations appear as though they are negative films. Implying that, in centuries where the discipline of photography did not exist, the contradiction of this juxtaposition of old suppression with this editorial examination is a reproduction of the same nuance, yet creates a futuristic climax, along with the French fold, which plays with the hidden information of the painters that can only be revealed once torn.

Risograph for the front part of the book and laserprint for the end, where you can admire the original paintings.
